NEW CALCUTTA FORMAT FOR

2024

This year's tournament will feature a change in the Calcutta. Previously, the Calcutta had an auction format; this year instead of an auction, we will be selling shares to any golfer or team. Think of it as any team is a new company and you want to buy a share of that company.

     

  •  Each share will cost $20.00.
     

  •  A copy of the full field will be emailed to the teams prior to the start of the tournament. If you are planning to purchase a share of a team, you must bring that document to check-in with the team, or teams circled and the             appropriate monies.
         

  • You have to purchase a share(s) at check in before you begin play on Saturday.
     

  • After the first round, the teams will be divided into two flights based on their scores. The Calcutta pot will then be split where the first flight will get 60% and the second flight 40% paid after Sunday's round.
     

  • Any ties that will determine what flight a team will be in will go to the same scorecard playoff we use for all our tournaments. Payouts will be for first and second places in each flight. If we have an uneven number of teams, the     first flight will get the odd team.
         

  •  If the team that you have a share of wins or finishes second, no matter what flight, you will share in the team's winnings. For example, if your team wins the 1st flight and there is $800.00 and four people purchased a share, each shareholder will receive $200.00.
           

  • If no one bought a share of the winning team, the distribution would go to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
         

  • For the first time in this tournament, we will be offering a Skins pot for $20.00 a team. Payouts will be for Sunday's round only and will be flighted. The board feels this will be a much fairer way to run and wanted to give it a try this year. If you have any questions, please let me know ASAP so we can address them and keep everyone informed of any revisions to this format.
